Filthy ATM Machines

When I used to visit my local supermarket and went to use the outside ATM machine it was always filthy. For some reason, the local glue sniffers or whatever used to constantly mess up the display and keyboard.

There machines for Barclays, Links and something else, but I think they all got equal abuse with none being hated over more than the other. So what was the motivation behind this vandalism?

My guess is that it would be a way to get to the parents who use these ATM machines or maybe a feeling of annoyance that they want to get more money and they know these machines are full of green.

It was really off-putting actually touching the keys since you don’t know if it’s urine, super glue or just plain spit. On the screen there might be some graffiti or chewing gum. So altogether an unpleasant experience using these machines.

Another strange thing is that you find lots of receipts that people don’t take away or forgot they requested a print-out. These show their account balance which you would expect they would want to remain private.

Another thing I can’t stand is the ATM users. These idiots don’t seem to realize that you can do more than one task once you are logged into your account. So they check their balance, eject their card. Then they log in again to take out some money and eject the card. Then they log in again to check their balance and print out a receipt which they leave behind.
